The Soil Moisture and Drought Information Management System is designed with the goal of drought mitigation and disaster reduction. utilizing real-time soil moisture, agricultural conditions, and water storage/diversion status of water conservancy projects as data sources. It employs advanced soil moisture sensors and other state-of-the-art equipment, combined with region-specific mathematical models, and leverages a computer network environment to establish an integrated decision support system encompassing soil moisture information management, query services, and predictive analysis. This system scientifically formulates drought mitigation scheduling plans, providing decision support for effective drought relief command and minimizing disaster losses.
Communication transmission methods:
① GPRS communication method
Data collected at monitoring points is uploaded to the network via GPRS. Users can log in and view the data using any computer with internet access. This method is stable and reliable, addressing the common issue of frequent disconnections encountered by the industry when using China Mobile's wireless IP transmission communication. Data transmission is stable and reliable, eliminating concerns about sudden disconnections. Communication costs are charged based on data usage, making it suitable for applications with large data volumes.
② GSM Communication Method
Data is transmitted transparently via SMS. As long as there is mobile network coverage, data transmission is possible without geographical restrictions. Data can be sent to the user's designated mobile phone number or specific computer. Communication costs are calculated based on China Mobile's tariff rates, making it suitable for applications with small data volumes.
③ 3G Communication Method
Utilizes networks provided by the three major telecom operators to upload data from collection points. Users can view data on any computer via network connection. The advantages of 3G include fast transmission speeds, stability, and the ability to transmit large data volumes, making it widely applicable in fields such as video transmission. The drawback is limited network coverage, but this communication method represents the future trend of development.
The main unit features an IP65-rated waterproof design and is equipped with a large LCD display screen, which can display real-time data and graphs from various sensors. The data collection interval can be set, and the main unit can record the collected data.
Power supply options are diverse and flexible, allowing for customization with mains power or solar panels, batteries, etc. (suitable for long-term use in areas without electricity) to ensure the system operates normally during power outages or inclement weather.
Utilizes three advanced network communication transmission methods: GPRS, GSM, and 3G, making it highly suitable for real-time monitoring and transmission of data between distant cities.
The soil moisture and drought management system offers diverse and flexible customization options, with powerful system software functionality, adjustable data collection intervals (from 1 minute to 24 hours), and a large system storage capacity.
The communication methods are flexible, supporting both wired and wireless (GSM/GPRS) connections. Data can be downloaded and exported to a computer at any time, allowing real-time viewing of historical data, storage as Excel files, generation of data curves for further processing by other analysis software, and connection to a printer for printing stored data.
Easy to install and maintain, with stable performance, high reliability, and low failure rate, suitable for real-time monitoring of major soil types across China's various climate zones. Multiple power supply options are available, including mains power, solar power, and a backup battery, ensuring the system can operate normally even during rainy weather or mains power failures.
A single data acquisition system can simultaneously monitor multiple monitoring points using the vertical six-point method. Each sensor features high precision, stable performance, and low power consumption. The data acquisition instrument is equipped with a powerful communication network interface, and the system has strong communication capabilities to meet the needs of different customers.
