Product Introduction

The Fish and Shrimp Virus Detector is a device designed to detect viruses in fish and shrimp within aquaculture operations. In the aquaculture industry, viral infections can severely impact the health of fish and shrimp as well as the viability of farming operations, making timely and accurate virus detection critical.

Detectable pathogens include: - Vibrio parahaemolyticus (causing acute hepatopancreatic necrosis disease) - Enterocytozoon hepatopenaei (EHP) - Infectious hypodermal and hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHHNV) - White spot syndrome virus (WSSV) - Shrimp Hepatopancreatic Encephalotocophorosis (EHP-SWP), Vibrio parahaemolyticus, Harveyella crustacea, and Decapod Iris Virus (DIV1).

The fish and shrimp virus detector employs real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) technology, a widely used molecular biology technique for detecting viruses in aquaculture. The PCR detector amplifies and detects specific viral nucleic acid sequences, thereby confirming infection with particular fish or shrimp viruses.
