The handheld biological toxicity analyzer is a new-generation biological acute toxicity analyzer designed for laboratory use. It is a toxicity detection system based on biological fluorescence sensing technology, which performs qualitative detection based on changes in the luminescence intensity of luminescent bacteria during metabolism. Compared to traditional biological detection methods using fish, freshwater shrimp, and other aquatic organisms as biological detection methods, the luminescent bacteria method is simple, fast, sensitive, adaptable, reproducible, precise, cost-effective, and versatile. It is designed as a rapid toxicity detection instrument for water quality, suitable for purposes such as environmental pollution, emergency incidents, security inspections, and routine testing. It can be used for on-site detection of the overall toxicity of substances such as heavy metals, toxic agents, nerve agents, and pesticide formulations in water.
Complies with the national standard “GB/T15441-1995 Determination of Acute Toxicity of Water Quality—Luminescent Bacteria Method” and the international standard (ISO11348-3).
The handheld biological toxicity analyzer is suitable for drinking water testing, emergency response to biological contamination, emergency response to toxic chemicals, toxic and hazardous waste, municipal drainage, rainwater testing, drilling fluid and mud testing, mining, wastewater, soil and water testing, industrial wastewater discharge testing, process water testing, seawater testing, medical/ pharmaceutical product testing, food packaging testing, personal care products and household chemical testing, sediment testing, rainwater runoff testing, solid sample testing, food processing water testing, and more.
The handheld bio-toxicity analyzer performs three functions: toxicity testing, ATP detection, and determination of microbial contamination. Toxicity testing uses luminescent bacteria naturally found in the environment. These bacteria emit light as part of their normal metabolic processes. When exposed to a toxic environment, their cellular respiration processes are disrupted, resulting in a reduction in light emission. The luminescence detector measures the light emission of the bacteria before and after exposure to the toxic environment, with the degree of reduction corresponding to the strength of the toxicity.
