The Photosynthesis Measuring Instrument is an experimental device for detecting photosynthesis in living leaves of plants within controlled environments such as artificial climate chambers, greenhouses, plastic tunnels, and open fields. It measures 15 parameters including atmospheric CO₂ concentration, environmental temperature and humidity, leaf chamber temperature and humidity, leaf surface temperature, atmospheric pressure, photosynthetically active radiation (PAR), leaf photosynthetic rate (Pn), stomatal conductance (Gs), leaf transpiration rate (Tr), intercellular CO₂ concentration (Ci), water use efficiency (WUE), respiration rate (Rd), and transpiration ratio (TR).
